Northern Ireland SWAN UK families had a fantastic day when we all met up at Tayto Park. The sun was shining which is a rare occurrence in our wee country.

We arrived at 11am and made plans for everyone to meet and greet at 2pm for a picnic. We all went our separate ways to enjoy all the activities and attractions in the park! Some of us conquered the mighty big roller-coaster while others looked on with fear ... it’s big! Others tackled the zip lines and climbing walls and many of the other adrenaline rides.

There were plenty of things for the little swans and siblings to enjoy from face painting to a circus show, a train ride round the park and a walk round the zoo. We all met at 2pm and set up our picnics and we got the opportunity to meet new families and of course those that we have known from our first meet up years ago.

It was lovely to exchange stories and watch the children all bond. It was a very relaxed atmosphere and because we all know of each other from the Facebook chats, it was lovely to meet them in the flesh.

Days like these wouldn’t be possible without funding and it’s important for us as families to have them as it’s good to meet others in the same situation.
