On 9 July we had a great day out to Hatton Country World in Warwickshire with about 20 of our super SWAN UK families, including a very new member to our flock.
After a pretty wet week and the outlook seemingly a bit iffy I think we had all packed our cars with the full works of sun cream, hats, sunglasses plus raincoats, umbrellas and buggy covers for a typical British day out. Thankfully the rain held off and the sun shone. Hurrah!
I arrived on time (those who know me well, will know this is no mean feat) with my Swan Freddie, his siblings Bella & Jago and my mum-in-law, plus about 30 SWAN UK balloons to make absolutely sure everyone could see us. All of our SWAN UK children got to keep one for themselves too.
We fed donkeys, saw mummy pigs with their piglets, rabbits, guinea pigs, snakes and other reptiles. There were mini diggers to ride, trampolines to bounce on, rides and a giant skittle alley, ice creams, chatting and laughter.
It was great to look around the farm and see so many pink and blue SWAN UK balloons.
We chose a meeting point for a lunch time break for those who wanted to chat. It was fantastic to see some familiar faces and to meet many new ones.
There was more fun in the afternoon and most of us went strawberry picking in the field at the back, all included in the entry ticket. With four boxes picked, there was a lot of strawberries and cream and strawberry crumble action in my house that week. Yum.
It was a fantastic day out and I can't wait for our next SWAN UK adventure.
